How they come to you and how they respond to you is interesting, one of them opens up lore a great deal on Mandolorians, another (the shortest one in stature) is a genuine surprise and delight. Many may disagree with me and I respect their right to do so.īetter Companions - Bounty Hunter is a class where, but for one exception, I enjoy companions. I should preface all this by saying many of these are open to personal opinion such that I feel I should start every sentence with "IMO". There are probably objectively better and more well-rounded classes to play, but these two each have their highlights and excel in some areas better than others. Overall, I rate the Smuggler 5/8 and the Hunter 5.5/8. They also have some of the best defensive CDs in the game. Huge burst heals with a decent HoT and minimal AoE. Mercenary healing is one of the more preferred Healers in the game, though. I think Gunslinger Saboteur is more fun than Pyrotech Powertech, but I couldn't tell you which is rated higher for endgame PvP/PvE these days. Hard for me to comment on which classes are better. I already know I don't like the healing for Smuggler, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Hunter is more fun to play overall. Smuggler can put out some huge numbers with its aoe, if you're playing as a Saboteur Gunslinger, but I'm not a fan of just running around and punching people- which is the basic premise of the Scoundrel class DPS-, so I've avoided that Advanced Class entirely. I've played Pyrotech Powertech DPS and the heal discipline (can't remember the name of it) for Mercenary. I think Hunter is more fun from the standpoint of healing and dps. The female Smuggler/Hunter both have fantastic VA. I'd say the Hunter's is better overall, but only because the male Smuggler simply sounds like a less raspy version of the male Hunter. The Smuggler has better dialogue all-around, I think, and both the script and class story plot is hilarious because its genuinely good. Neutral and Dark dialogue can basically make you come off as just living and breathing machismo and this gets a little silly, at times. The Bounty Hunter's dialogue is pretty comical in the sense that it's sometimes absurdly stupid. Each class' respective character is going to just come down to how you play it, honestly. You might think the Hunter is too cliche or you might not like happy-go-lucky attitude of a Light-side Smuggler. I don't think I can comment on the character for you. They do get decent Neutral/Light choices, though. The Smuggler pretty much just comes off as an asshole when they're played Dark, which, given that they are not a Republic soldier, member of the Imperial Intelligence apparatus or part of any Force-related Order, actually makes sense. Never really played them Light, so I can't attest to how that plays. Smuggler Romance with Corso knocks every romance available to the Hunter out of the park. The Hunter just has a better variety with, quite frankly, more entertaining personalities. Hunter gets expert slicer with complex backstory, wily con artist, less-forgettable Mandalorian warrior, a freakin' Jawa and the guy who is almost universally disliked across the player base. Smuggler gets a hokey farm boy (Luke without the Force Powers and dark Skywalker legacy, basically), a would-be Princess that just kind of forces her way onto your ship, a cliche Wookie crew member, a forgettable Mandalorian warrior and Guss Tuno.
